Mr. Petrocelli

Principal's Welcome

On behalf of the DePaul Catholic family, I welcome you to our website and am happy that you found us and that you find your visit enjoyable.

As we enter our 63rd year of educating young people, we are proud to offer a well-rounded academic experience that includes spiritual, intellectual, and social growth to all of your students. The academic program will challenge all of our students on a daily basis and we encourage all students to test their own limits and experience the breadth of courses offered on the Advanced Placement (AP), Honors, and College Prep levels. A wide range of electives is also offered to allow students to explore new interests in the Social Sciences, Mathematics, Technology, and the Fine and Performing Arts.

Scholarship, Faith, and Community are the hallmark standards that distinguish DePaul from other academic institutions. Understanding that students are not just members of the DePaul community but we are all members of a larger community, we encourage and promote student activity in Christian service opportunities that serve members of society most in need. Through daily Theology classes and a Campus Ministry program that provides structured Retreats and Community Service, we form students in the model of service to others. We also offer daily Mass and the regular celebration of the Sacraments.

DePaul Catholic recognizes that students perform best in the classroom when they patriciate in co-curricular activities that support the academic program. Honor societies, the arts, athletics, and community service offer our students the opportunity to put into practice in the real world all that they have learned in the classroom. The faculty and staff challenge and encourage all students to become compassionate citizens who serve those in need and become leaders in an ever-changing global society.

From the first day a student enters our doors, College Readiness is a primary focus. From our Counseling Office to our Information Commons to our 1-to-1 laptop initiative, our goal is to have students prepared for the 21st Century.

Offering rigorous academics and an environment that will allow students to reach their full potential as members of the larger, global community is our mission. Please explore this website and, if you should have any questions, please feel free to contact me. DePaul Catholic is truly, “Large enough to Challenge, Small enough to Care.”

St. Vincent DePaul, pray for us.

The Co-ed Advantage

Preparing students academically, socially and emotionally for college and life thereafter requires an environment that is reflective of the real world -- a co-ed world. DePaul Catholic graduates are prepared to interact and work with members of the opposite gender both in the college classroom and in the workplace. This co-ed partnership fosters individual growth while preparing each to thrive within their community.

In a co-ed setting, both boys and girls take on leadership roles, learn to take risks in front of their peers, and are exposed to various management styles and personalities. Each interaction helps to breakdown negative gender stereotypes and allows students to learn invaluable lessons in working with members of the opposite gender and growing as young adults.
