Tech Tips for Parents

Creating Your PowerSchool Parent Login

At our annual September Back to School Night, a unique Access ID and Access Password are distributed to all parents new to DePaul Catholic. If you have misplaced these credentials and never created your account, the credentials may be obtained from either our Office Manager, Mrs. Nigro at nigrok@dpchs.org, or our Technology Coordinator, Ms. Parler at parlers@dpchs.org. We are serious about protecting the integrity of your data, so they are the only two people in the building that can assist in supplying this information to you. Emailing a teacher, guidance counselor, or administrator only results in a delay in obtaining the information you need.

Students who enroll after Back to School Night are given the paperwork for their parent accounts at the time they receive their Tablets

The instructions to create the account are not at all complicated, but better served in a step-by-step instruction sheet. A copy of that sheet can be found by clicking this link: Parent Account Creation.

 

IT Office Hours

Should your child need direct assistance with his or her Tablet, please direct him or her to the IT Office. Located in the Engineering Lab, the IT Office is open five days per week, often during lunches. These are the open hours for 2020-2021:

  • Monday: During Period 4
  • Tuesday: During Period 5
  • Wednesday: During Period 4
  • Thursday: During Period 5
  • Friday: During Period 5

 

 

Adding the DePaul Catholic Website to your Phone

Several parents have requested access to the "DePaul Catholic App". There is no "App" per se, but there is a way to add the website as an icon on the homescreen of your phone.

iPhone Users

  1. Launch Safari on your iOS (iPhone or iPad) device‌.
  2. Navigate to https://www.depaulcatholic.org.
  3. Tap the Share icon (the square with an arrow pointing out of it) at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Scroll down to the list of actions and tap Add to Home Screen.

Anroid Phone Users

  1. Launch Chrome.
  2. Navigate to https://www.depaulcatholic.org.
  3. Tap the menu icon (3 dots in upper right-hand corner) and tap Add to homescreen.
  4. Confirm the name for the shortcut and Chrome will add it to your home screen.

• Installing the PowerSchool Phone App

When you attempt to install the PowerSchool app on your phone, you will notice the District Code listed in the desktop version of PowerSchool does not work. Use the Server Address instead:

  1. Download and launch the app on your phone
  2. Click the button that says "Where's my District Code"
  3. Select Enter the Server Address
  4. Enter https://dpchs.powerschool.com as the server address
  5. Click Submit
  6. Use your username and password to get in

iOS App

You can open the App Store app on your iOS device and search for "PowerSchool". The PowerSchool app should be the first result that appears.
